Pernese Dragons
Pernese Dragons here in Alt-Benden follow two schools of thought.

Legacy Pernese Dragons:
Any Pernese dragon (regardless of actual origin) follows the size and intelligence canon of an intelligent sentient species. Rank is not determined by color and sizes overlap greatly. See size chart below.

The main colors are: Gold, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green and White.

IGPC Genetically Modified Pernese Dragons:
More information about the IGPC and their genetics can be found HERE. Alt-Benden uses a blend of IGPC genes and Legacy Pern genes. Clutches featuring one, the other or both will be notated as such so writers know what they can expect in terms of rares.

Known Modifiers:
Split: Base body is one color, wings are another
Speckled: Base color, secondary color is speckled on base
Shimmer: Overall shimmer/sheen on base color
Night/Light: Ryslen Gradient; black or white on extremities
Tints: Base is 'tinted' by another color, usually on extremities (such as a Rusted Gold is a rusty tint on a base Gold)
Cloudy: Foggy overlay of whites and greys over base
Tiger Eye: Gradient overlay of base
Lightning: Lightning pattern overlay of base
Peacock: Peacock pattern overlay of base
Frosted: Overall icy overlay of base

Eien Dragons
Eienic Dragons come in all colors of the known universe and are generally described by their source power or overall appearance. Their size can also vary, mostly because all Eien dragons can transform between draconic forms, humanoid/bipedal forms, and whatever else they feel like appearing as. Generally speaking, their true draconic forms are Huge.

An example is Mara. She is a female Eienic Dragon who draws her power from the swearing of Oaths. This makes her 'Mara of Oaths' though she is also known for her shining silver scales. Likewise, she is described as a 'Silver' dragon, and can be referred to as 'The Silver Dragon of Oaths.' She is also fond of transforming into a small mouse or a lithe young human woman with silvery mouse-brown hair.
Mara herself prefers just 'Mara' but you can call her what you want. Just don't break your word.
